Fear Factor: Canine Edition - Simply Profound

Comedy, Drama, Monologue - http://www.thejohngrady.com/

Simply put, it rises to the challenge of saying something profound about Death and the experience is both heart wrenching and comforting. John Grady lays it out for you, he helps us understand what to do, or rather how to be, when someone is dying and then he gets on with it. He takes on perhaps the greatest task of loving in our lives, which is being supportive and selfless for someone else at the very end.

Mr. Grady says the rest so very well I won’t go into my interpretation but will say he does it simply and efficiently. He understands pacing (finally someone who does) and how to use it, which I am delighted to say, takes this piece and puts it a cut above.  This is someone who also understands the topic he has chosen and is incredibly effective in his telling of the tale.

He gets to the heart of our greatest Fear Factor – Death. It is a topic we don’t talk much about with each other. Actually, we avoid talking about it. Given no one escapes it you’d think we would talk about it more. John Grady tells us about great love and championship and what it is like to lose someone you love, in this case a canine family member.

The material is funny, quirky, and painfully honest but the journey that John Grady takes us on is well worth the taking. So if you have ever experienced the death of a dog, friend, relative, sibling or parent you should see this show and perhaps, more importantly, if you have not you should see this show.
