Spencer Herbert, NDP MLA and Opposition Critic on Tourism, Culture and the Arts, has announced that he has heard that the Provincial Government has reversed its decision on denying Direct Access funding to organizations operating on a three year cycle. This could number over 500 organizations in total. It seems likely that the legal challenge of breaking existing contracts could have been a deciding factor.

Update: this story has been confirmed by the Vancouver Sun quoting the total restored as $20 million.  The Globe and Mail also confirms the story.
