The reviews are starting to come in!  So exciting!

For the fourth year, PLANK is trying to cover ALL of the 86 shows in the Vancouver Fringe.  We want to talk a little bit about our process here at PLANK, especially during the Fringe.  We have 15 volunteer reviewers to cover all the shows which we are trying to do within the first four days of the festival.

My colleague Andrew Templeton explained it like this in a comment for a controversial review of a show at last year's festival:

"Our coverage of the Fringe is much less controlled than our usual coverage. We throw the writers, most of them unknown to us, out into the wilds, and see what they come up with. Sometimes they write insightfully, sometimes they act as boosters, sometimes they are barbed. We feel that this scatter-gun approach fits beautifully with the Fringe. It does, however, mean that things are less moderated than usual. I should also stress here that the reviews are not the opinions of PLANK. They are the opinions of the individual reviewers who maintain copyright of all work published here."

We want to invite all artists and audience members to weigh in on the opinions of the individual reviewers.  We believe that everyone experiences theatre differently and we invite you all to:

READ what we think.  Tell us what YOU think.  JOIN the conversation.
