Robert Lepage: In Coversation (and it's free!!)

Author Name:
Andrew Templeton

I've had the pleasure of attending a couple of talks that Robert Lepage has given in the past. He's an amazing, gracious speaker and if you're at all interested in theatre and its potential you should really check out the free talk that the UBC Department of Theatre and Film are presenting. Details below:

Robert Lepage is one of the world’s true theatrical geniuses and a very articulate commentator on his own creative processes. Come hear Lepage talk about The Blue Dragon, the play he is currently performing in Vancouver at the new SFU Woodward’s Theatre as part of the 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

Playwright, actor, director, designer, filmmaker and artistic director of his Quebec?based company Ex Machina, Lepage has been acclaimed around the world for his brilliant theatrical creations—The Dragon’s Trilogy, Polygraph, Needles and Opium, The Seven Streams of the River Ota, Elsinore, The Geometry of Miracles, Zulu Time, The Dark Side of the Moon, The Anderson Project, Lipsynch and more—and for his groundbreaking direction of plays (A Midsummer Night’s Dream at London’s National Theatre), opera (Wagner’s Ring Cycle at New York’s Met), and Cirque du Soleil (Ka in Las Vegas).

More about Robert Lepage and Ex Machina here. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see Robert Lepage up close and talk to him about his work.

ROBERT LEPAGE in Conversation will be moderated by Jerry Wasserman, Head of the UBC Department of Theatre and Film.

Thursday, February 11, 2?3 pm, Frederic Wood Theatre, UBC. Tickets are free but please reserve your seat at 604.822.2678
