Why is Vancouver art so much better than Seattle's?

This is the question posed in a rant by Jen Graves, published in the Stranger a few months ago (but just read by me). Makes for interesting reading, given our recent fears over the proposed cut backs to the arts.

Of course, "art" means visual art and I can't help but think that we would not come out quite so glowingly on the performing arts side but still it's interesting to see what (some of) your neighbours think of you.
